Class rating skill test duration depends on type of test
In accordance with GM1 FCL.1015(b) An examiner should plan at least 2 hours for a class rating skill test or proficiency check, and at least 4 hours for multi pilot type rating skill test or proficiency check, including preflight briefing and preparation, conduct of the skill test, proficiency check de-briefing, evaluation of the applicant and documentation.
For the conduct of the skill test test or proficiency check, without additional activities, the following values will be used as guidance by Flight Examiner, Class Rating Examiner and Type Rating Examiner:
- 45 minutes for single pilot class ratings - VFR only;
- 60 minutes for single pilot type rating or class rating (IFR); and
- 120 minutes for multi pilot typerating.
