EASA examination by the flight examiner designated by the foreign country

There are many pilots within the EASA region who have issued the flight crew license by an one EASA country, but examination flight for the revalidation or renewal of endorsed ratings would like to do with the flight examiner from another EASA member state.

For example if you hold a flight crew license issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Latvia and the you want to Slovakian flight examiner do the examination flight with you.

The Regulation 1178/2011, Part FCL, paragraph FCL.1005 says that the EASA flight examiner shall carry out skill testsproficiency checks or assessments of competence of the candidate, whose license has been issued by the different competent authority than the competent authority of the flight examiner if he:

  • inform the competent (issuing) authority of the applicant´s license of his intention to conduct the skill testproficiency check or assessment of competence
  • inform the competent (issuing) authority of the applicant´s license about the scope of his flight examiner privileges;
  • completed an instruction (briefing) from the competent (issuing) authority of the candidate´s license

In other words, this means that if you hold a flight crew license issued by different National authority than the Transport authority of Slovak republic (the competent authority which oversights our flight examiners), it is necessary for us to take a deep look on the national difference of the issuing country. Usually it is necessary to communicate about the flight test with the issuing national Authority and notify them about our intention to do a flight examination.

Because of the different period of time required for test notification, we need to see your license and all of your pilot´s credentials well before the examination.

The general requirements on the basis of which we can perform flight examination and revalidation or renewal of your aviation ratings are defined by the Regulation (EC) 1178/2011, Part-FCL. However, there are national procedures applied by the national aviation authorities. All of the procedures different than the general one is stated in the specific document published by EASA. In order to provide you with the flight examination as smooth as possible, we will clarify all of the procedures with your competent authority well in advance on your behalf. Usually these administrative tasks required by the national aviation authority take several days.

Such procedures are quite common for us.

Our flight examiners carried out such flight test for following  EASA member states:

  • Czech Republic
  • Latvia
  • Austria
  • United Kingdom
  • Ireland
  • Netherlands
  • Italy
  • Belgium
  • Slovak Republic
  • Finland
  • Croatia
  • Malta
  • Hungary
  • Spain
  • Greece
  • Slovenia
  • Germany

All of these and other administrative procedures, we handle for you, of course.
